I had the honor of delivering an invited lecture titled “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Prompting” at the Physiological Society of Sri Lanka Regional Meeting 2024, held at the Faculty of Medicine, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. This lecture provided an overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing relevance in various fields, with a particular focus on its applications in research and education.

During the session, I discussed the fundamentals of AI, its capabilities, and the significance of effective “prompting” in interacting with AI systems. The talk also highlighted practical examples of how AI models, including language models, can be utilized in academic settings to enhance research productivity and innovation.

It was a fulfilling experience to engage with fellow researchers and academics, and I look forward to exploring more opportunities to integrate AI into scientific endeavors.
