I had the pleasure of conducting a hands-on workshop titled “Talk to AI the Right Way: Introduction to Prompt Engineering for Beginners” for the administrative staff of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.

This interactive session was designed to introduce the basics of prompt engineering, empowering participants to effectively communicate with AI tools. From crafting clear instructions to understanding how AI interprets language, we explored practical techniques that can enhance productivity, problem-solving, and digital workflows in an administrative environment.

It was inspiring to see such enthusiasm and curiosity from the participants, especially as they engaged in live demos, explored real-world use cases, and experimented with AI prompts tailored to their day-to-day tasks.

I believe that AI literacy is essential for every role in today’s workplace, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to building that capacity within our university community.
